Is Ditto Printing possible?
Is Ditto Printing possible?
Hello, I was wondering if my Geeetech Pro C Dual Extruder printer is capable of doing ditto printing (two jobs simultaneously) using Repetier-Host? Would you anyone please be able to advice me to do that? Thank you very much.
Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
can't do that, only thing you can do is print one object with two different colours ..
Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
Hello Mark, Yes, I meant that. Sorry for the confusion, I misplaced the word "two jobs". Anyway, I want to print the same job having smaller dimension that the nozzle distance (<32 mm) simultaneously by depositing two filaments from two nozzles at the same time. Is it possible? Please advice me accordingly. Repetier-Host asks me to choose only one of two nozzles before starting the printing.Thank you so much for your continuous support.
Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
I found a firmware here, it will let the two extruders working at the same time, exactly the one that you want.
Please note the extruder motor direction and test the other functions before print.
And you can also customize your printer as the picture shows to get a better reslut by using two MK8 single extruders:

Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
Thank you very much Mark. I uploaded the firmware you shared. One problem I got for now is about the direction of extruding motors. When I press extrude in Repetier-Host, the motors actually rotate in other way (retracting). So, I think, I need to change the direction for the extruder motors. Would you please able to tell me how can I do that? Thank you very much.

Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
Hello mark, finally I got my printer working well with the copyer firmware. Many thanks for your awesome help. 2nd extruder does exactly what the 1st extruder does. I am now thinking about using mixing extruder like the one used in Geeetech I3 M201. I was wondering if you could help me telling exactly where (in the firmware) we are commanding 2nd extruder to do the same as 1st extruder? For example, right now the firmware gives us finally extruded material of 50%-50% of both filaments. If I could change the parentage. For instance, If we could direct the 2nd extruder to feed at a half speed of the 1st extruder, it will give us roughly 67%-33% final percentage of extruded material. Thanks again.
Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
uh..you got me. I don't know how this works too sorry mate.
Re: Is Ditto Printing possible?
If I am reading this correctly, you are asking if you can replace your second extruder head with the 2>1 head, and print simultaneously with the single head? (using single for supports etc.)
I just bought an i3 Pro C, (as yet to be delivered), and had wondered the same, but I believe this was replied to elsewhere, that it is not possible at this time.
Unfortunate, but I'm guessing there are some tweakers out there somewhere that have or will soon be successful in doing so, I just haven't found one yet.
I believe the issue is in the controller inability to run more than 2 codes at once?

Hi Mark.
What do we do after we have downloaded your PI3B-GT2560-2E_copyer.zip firmware?
I have downloaded it and un-Zipped! What to do next??
Thanks.
